Purpose of Job:

We are looking for an experienced sales executive / account manager to join our growing business. Candidates should have a solid commercial awareness and knowledge of the pathology sector. This person should possess the ability to maintain and develop or current client accounts and to build new business by identifying and converting leads to sales



  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers via field sales activity.
  • Visiting potential customers and seeking out new business opportunities.
  • Forge strong relationships with MedLab Pathology's key clients.
  • Use your sales acumen to develop new prospects, focusing on key areas where our company offers competitive differentiation.
  • Actively documenting & maintaining accurate client records, to include key points of contact, potential revenue values and highlighting important opportunities as they arise.
  • Accurately updating and maintaining client databases through the use of our CRM system.
  • Concise & routine reporting of client contact and visits.  Recording all sales activity and prospects and developing sales plans and structures in conjunction with the Commercial Manager.
  • Qualify and develop leads and close sales in line with company targets.
  • Manage and tailor individual account plans, including the proactive development of customer proposals.
  • Prepare responses to customer's requests for information, requests for quotations and requests for contract renewal in a timely fashion.
  • Actively lead tenders responses in your business area as required by the company.
  • Work with existing clients to develop new business organically and aim towards the exclusive use of MedLab Pathology services.
  • Attend and represent MedLab Pathology at professional symposia and trade shows.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with internal departments, especially Customer Support, Laboratory, QA & Logistics.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all aspects of MedLab Pathology services and accurately represent these services to current and prospective clients.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to ISO 15189 requirements.
  • Complete annual account reviews and maintain records of clients contract dates, preparing information on the account review, ensuring paperwork and files are kept up to date.
  • Preparing multiyear Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and ensuring all our clients in in contract.
  • Preparing accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with bespoke quotations.
  • Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales.
  • Negotiating variations in price, delivery and specifications.
  • Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed target.
  • Assist the Commercial Manager to train sales and support personnel.
  • Help to formulates all sales policies, practices and procedures.
  • Any other function which the Commercial Manager designates.




(i) Educational Requirements


Scientific or Nursing degree/diploma required                                                          


(ii) Experience Required


3+ year of medical or pharma sales experience required (experience in hospital laboratory sales or account management will be a distinct advantage)
