JOB TITLE: Information Technology Technician
DEPARTMENT: Customer Support

Purpose of Job:

To provide I.T. support within MLPs Dublin Facility. To liaise with our customer support and I.T. departments in order to support an existing and growing services base. A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1)     Monitor systems to ensure they are up-to-date through operating systems upgrades.

2)     Monitor networking equipment and servers.

3)     Assist with the design, implementation, and ongoing support of new software and features.

4)     Monitor web performance, network availability, and security.

5)     Oversee troubleshooting for system errors.

6)     Provide helpdesk support for network issues.

7)     Respond to IT issues; hardware maintenance, software, networking, etc.

8)     Evaluate connectivity issues, equipment, and software.

9)     Modify configurations, utilities, software, etc.

10)  Set up equipment for new users.

11)  Install, test, and monitor servers, firewalls, and new software.

12)  Install and update network system improvements as needed.

13)  Assist IT team with Servers, LAN/WAN technologies, computer repair/troubleshooting software, networks, virus protection, Wi-Fi technology, and more.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

  • Diploma or higher in Information Technology or related areas, information systems or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a help desk technician, computer technician, or IT support would be advantageous.
  • Advanced experience within Microsoft Excel or other data reporting packages
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve multiple tasks.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player.
  • Ability to adapt to existing operating systems
  • Experience working with network and server management support.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of new systems, information, software, and upgrades.
